Being attacked

Hi There,
Life is happening too fast, it has attacked me lately....

I began to homeschool the four boys in September, and it seems like that's added to every thing else, I have an overflowing life. And not time for the blog.
The boys are in 6th, 4th, 1st and K grades!! And though Dennis is doing all the correcting of paper and grading (which helps a heap!), I still find my days full to the brim. The big boys do most of the work for themselves, but the little ones need lots of help.

I began a paper projects class at home, which happens once a month, so that added more to my days. But I am enjoying to have time with women who are like minded. I appreciate the chance to teach projects that others enjoy too.

While mumbling about the boys, someone told me something that I have enjoy sooo much. The days seem so long and the years seem so short. I just want to be happy and thankful for the blessing in raising my boys, and see the things that really matter in life.

Here I am posting a few pictures of our life through the summer:

Visiting the Statue of Liberty in New York. I took Alexander and Nikolas to Washington DC and New York for a school trip. It was an awesome experience!!

We saw my uncle Andres and Aunt Wendy. They drove about 12 hours from Ontario Canada to WA to see us!! It as so nice to see them again. We also, saw our good chilean friend Tamara and her daughter Ines! These were extra hight lights of our school trip!!

The boys at the Washington DC zoo. We thoroughly enjoyed our time there. It was a hot day, we walked a lot, saw a lot of animals that we never had seen. Among them was a komodo dragon, flamingos, red pandas, storks, orangutans, prairie dogs, kiwis, toucans, mina birds....

My Mom enjoying to take care of the little boys (Benjamin and Jonathan) while me and the big boys were on the trip.

My 5 boys at the Sea Life Center in Seward.... back in Alaska!!!

 ********
We also, went to Dennis' parents 60th anniversary in South Oregon. We saw all of the siblings (9 of them!) all the grandchildren but 3 (21 total), and all of the great grandchildren (11 little ones!!)

I want to add some more pictures of my projects, but I guess I will have to wait.... Alexander will help me to figure where are the rest of pictures! Today children are electronic experts from day one! Thank goodness!

Have a great white week out there!!.... We got our first snow today..... Dennis and I think that it will melt overnight, because tomorrow will be 70 degrees.... Now back to reality, I will try to enjoy our white week!
Hugs!

A hat for Joyce

This is a hat that I made for a friend who is being treated with radiation for brain cancer.

The flowers is a brooch that can be taken out and use in the jacket/shirt instead.
It has been good for me to spend time making a hat for this friend. We do not know when it might be too late to cherish our friends, our blessing.
May you have a day full of counted blessings!!
Until next post,
Hugs

A week alone with my boys

Well, my husband went to see a friend in Canada who is not surviving cancer, and some visiting with his family in OR, therefore you realized that I am alone with the boys for about 5 days by now.
It was a crazy week, taking the 3 of the boys to school every day at 7.50, coming home, for a couple of hours before I go down the hill again to get Benjamin, my 6 years old in half day kindergarten. Then up again, and care for my boys, the household stuff and an extra little one until 2.30 when I go down again to get the older boys and then run either to swimming lessons, piano, see a friend or a birthday party on Friday. Come home to make some dinner, get stuck in the driveway, cook lunches for an average of 40 people a day... !!!... our business.
On Wednesday, Benjamin got his left big toe smashed by the piano bench and it almost separate his whole nail from the toe. It bled for a long time, and it bled some more if it touch any thing. Very swelled, that he could not use shoes or go to school for the next two day, and had to be carried for a while.
Today, I took the boys to Costco and now that they are back are full of energy, running all over the house while I write. But now I am off to clean the house before we go and get my Darling Husband from the airport.
Until the next post, hope you have a sunny day.... oh before I leave, this funny joke the boys are passing around. "What do you call a dead blond in the closet..... Last year's hide and seek winner."
Have fun, and enjoy your present.

Chickens

Well, here I go again..... I got the chickens back!!! This is how the story goes: Bob Coffee has been picked by her room mates!!, so my friend asked me to nurse Bob for a while... a couple of days of Bob in the garage~ it is quite cold out here in Alaska yet~ and the boys and I got pity on her and brought her to our living room!! .... (smile) When Dennis arrived from work, and saw the Bob roaming around inside the house, on the our relaxing Friday evening, he was not happy... So, on this beautiful Saturday, instead of going hiking as we has planned, he got into his snow pants and went strait to the green house to fix it for Bob!!!!! So, Bob had too big a house for herself, seeing that she needed some friends...girls friends only allowed in her coop~ the boys and I went and got the rest of what it was our chickens, back!!! Plus, 2 more.... 5 chickens: Bob Coffee, Oreo, Bob Coco, Puffin, and a new one to be named...! I just needed some more to do!!! LOL

Quiet Thursday

Hello There
Just a little note to update. It is a quiet Thursday with Nikolas sick of his stomach and Jonathan getting up too early and being whinny, so having a nap will help them... it would also help their Mom.. lol
I have been finishing a bunch of the cancer awareness card. I think it is a beautiful card. It is good to have caring thoughts for those that have been struck by this decease, and let them know.
I have had not  time to do more than finishing what I prepared for the SU! workshop. Life goes fast and get busy.

Someone quoted Aristotle:  "It is a mark of a educated mind to entertain a thought without accepting it". There is a lot of influences out there, many thought and opinions, yet is a restful thing when we are just lead by the "still small Voice". When to entertain some thoughts might confused us and therefore we might realized 'I do not have an educated mind', how grateful we can be to know the still small Voice!!!, who will lead us beyond knowledge and even experience.

I will post my next creation soon. Until then hugs to you.

Friday night relaxing

Hi There
While the boys are watching their Friday movie, Moca and Max (our dogs) are having a nap by the entrance door, Dennis is at his computer, and I am at mine... Friday night relaxing.
Any way, I thought to post that this coming Tuesday 15th, I will gather with a group of ladies for my monthly workshop and welcome anyone that can make it. This is in midtown Anchorage AK. I will post more samples of paper projects soon.

Cards for February SU! Workshop

Hi There
Today I am swamped with stuff to do, so I just want to post the cards that I will be making with a group of wonderful ladies with whom I meet once a month to make handmade paper projects. I am going to make a scrapbooking project too, but I have not been able to make a sample yet, so there is no picture. Last picture is not coming along, so I will have to work on that, next week. Now I must do some paper work for our business.
Have fun looking and please leave me a message.

Susana

This is a slide in and out message card.

This is a second possibility for this slice card.

A Breast Cancer awareness card.

This is a pop up card for a very good friend. Very easy thanks to the SU! punches.

CARDS AND MORE CARDS

My boys and I are at home on a relaxing Saturday afternoon, each one doing our own stuff.  Jonathan is asking "what color are bees, Mom", "oh there is not yellow or black in this box" He is coloring some of Benjamin's kinder paperwork while blowing some saliva bubbles, yuck!!! Benjamin and Nikolas are in the world of ScoobyDoo chapter books and Alexander is trying to fix his spy camera/video system. Dennis is doing some office work at the office. Oh Nikolas is besides me, so I bother him every so often to help me with the grammar.
So, here I am updating the blog.... and making Jonathan to stop the blowing.... LOL

Anyway, here there are some more cards that I have made in the past. Some of them are my version of some of Zindorf''s beautiful creations with brayer techniques:

A wedding favor that I used also as a winter Holiday's gift box.

A pure Alaskan card. Micro bids make the main water/northern lights frame.

A Holiday card that I just like very much!!

A wonderful card for the fall.

An Alaskan card with Fireweed and a bear over watercolor background.

I better do some ironing for my Darling, the only dress pant for work that he have is the one that he have on.... LOL!! and after that I will work in some paper projects I have in mind for my next workshop...

Enjoy your present, it is all you have!!

January workshop cards

Above is finally pictures of what I designed for my last workshop, January 2011.
In the next post I will do better arranging the photos in the right direction!! LOL .... I think that I have done pretty well to have began in this adventure on my own... oh well, my Darling helped me to know how to enter the photos... but not the direction lol!, though I think that I have figured it out, so just wait until my next post!!!

My 4 boys and their sweet Dad were playing nerf war for over an hour!!! Daddy and the little ones won!! The big boys said that they cheated... but that is the argument of the other side when they are loosing.
Must fix some light supper for the soldier, they are all hungry.

With good wishes.

January 2011

Hi There
I am new at blogging and I am attempting it without any help....  ;o).... I do not know how it will work, so bear with me, until I get to know more about how it works!.

The purpose of this blog is to show what I have come up with.
There will be some updating about my life with Dennis, my wonderful husband and my 4 rascals!! Like for example.... coming back from our Holiday vacation Nikolas, my 9 years old boy got a skin rash that got it's way to Benjamin, my 6 years old boy, it seem that it is a case of rubella.... (I am hoping that the other boys Alexander and Jonathan, also get this natural way of immunization) Life is interesting around here!!
